Itinerary

1 ARRIVAL AND SCENIC TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Your professional company guide will meet you at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) or your hotel in Kampala, marking the start of your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The drive is an adventure in itself, traversing lush landscapes and western Uganda's farming heartland. You will enjoy a mandatory stop at the Uganda Equator line for a fascinating demonstration and photo opportunity. A lunch stop is planned in the Mbarara area, allowing you to sample local or international cuisine (at your own cost). Upon entering the park area, we will pass by the breathtaking Twin Lakes before checking into your lodge, perfectly positioned to begin your wildlife exploration tomorrow.

2 KASENYI GAME DRIVE & KAZINGA CHANNEL BOAT SAFARI

After an early breakfast, we head out for a sunrise game drive across the expansive, open plains of the Kasenyi Sector. This area is famously known for its high concentration of resident plains game, making it the park's primary hunting ground for the Kasenyi Pride of lions. Keep your camera ready to capture sightings of: Lions, Leopards, and Hyenas, Huge herds of Uganda Kobs, Buffaloes, and Elephants Waterbucks, Bushbucks, and Warthogs

After lunch, we proceed to the Mweya peninsula for the highlight of the afternoon: a relaxing boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This natural channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George and boasts one of the world's highest concentrations of hippos. You will also witness massive Nile crocodiles, bathing elephants, and a spectacular array of over 60 bird species, including the African Fish Eagle and various pelicans.

3 JOURNEY TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK 

Today involves a scenic drive south towards the rugged mountains that house the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We travel via the famous Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth, The Ishasha sector is renowned for its unique population of tree-climbing lions, a rare spectacle believed to be caused by the need to escape the heat or tsetse flies. We will conduct a slow, deliberate drive through this section, maximizing your chances of spotting these majestic predators lounging in fig trees.

Following the game drive, we continue to your lodge, nestled on the edge of the ancient Bwindi forest. You will receive a briefing on the following day's gorilla trekking experience and relax in preparation for this profound encounter.

4 BWINDI GORILLA TREKKING & BATWA CULTURAL ENCOUNTER

The most anticipated day of your Uganda Safari Package has arrived. After an early breakfast and briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers, you will begin your mountain gorilla trek.

This is a challenging but immensely rewarding experience. The duration of the trek is unpredictable, ranging from one to eight hours, depending on the location of the habituated gorilla family. Once you find them, you will spend a magical hour observing these incredible primates in their natural habitat—a truly humbling and privileged moment. In the afternoon, to complement your gorilla experience, you will participate in a Batwa community visit (Pygmy experience). This cultural encounter allows you to learn about the traditional forest life of the Batwa people, a community intimately connected to the forest for thousands of years.

5 DEPARTURE FROM BWINDI

After a final breakfast overlooking the stunning Virunga mountains (weather permitting), you will begin your drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport (EBB) for your scheduled flight home. The drive includes necessary stops for rest and lunch, concluding your unforgettable 5-day Uganda gorilla and wildlife tour.
