Embark on a captivating 1-day shoebill tour to Mabamba Swamp, a renowned wetland on the shores of Lake Victoria. Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. A scenic one-hour drive will take you from Kampala to Mabamba Swamp, located on the shores of Lake Victoria. Upon arrival, you will meet your site guide and a boatman and immediately set out on a wooden canoe.
The canoe trip begins with a gentle paddle through the swamp's channels. Your main objective is to find the elusive shoebill stork. The search may not last long, as the guides are experts at spotting this incredible bird. Once you find it, you'll have ample time to observe and take photographs.
After spending time with the shoebill, you can continue exploring the swamp's water channels to spot other diverse bird species, including herons, egrets, and kingfishers. Following the excursion, you will head to a local restaurant for lunch before beginning the drive back to Kampala.
